Mining Linkages

The team has been instrumental in the implementation of three (3) mining linkages programs in Ghana, namely the Ahafo Linkages Program, jointly sponsored by the IFC and Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd; the Tano-Suraw Agribusiness Growth Initiative, jointly sponsored by Lundin for Africa and Chirano Gold Mines Ltd; and the Enhanced Local Contractor Programme, sponsored by Newmont Africa. All the programs were developed to mitigate the effects of mining on local communities and to explore alternate income avenues.
